Workshop-December 18, 2012
The Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tularosa met in workshop setting on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 6:00 P. M. in the Court Conference Room of the Public Safety Facility located at 609 St. Francis Drive, Tularosa, NM.
Present: Mayor Ray S. Cordova
Trustee Gloria R. Sainz
Trustee Fred O. Tyler
Absent: Trustee Patrick Garcia
Trustee Joseph Lueras
Also present at the Workshop was Village Clerk Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez and Grants Coordinator Richard Gutierrez.
At 6:07 P. M. Mayor Cordova called the Workshop to order asking that all rise and join him in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Salute to the Flag of the State of New Mexico.
Items presented at the Workshop are the items that will be presented at the Regular Meeting of December 19, 2012 which include:
Consideration of Agenda and Consent Agenda
Unscheduled Correspondence and Public Comments
Rick Gutierrez-Approval of Adoption of Resolution 2012-2013-07 authorizing and approving submission of application for financial assistance and project approval to the New Mexico Finance Authority
Rick Gutierrez-Approval to accept Colonias funding of $350,863.00 with a 10% loan component
Mayor Ray S. Cordova-Approval to purchase a Recreation Van and a Village vehicle through the State Purchasing Contract
Mayor Ray S. Cordova-Approval of the re-hire of Sonya Gililland as the Recreation Director/Rover at $11.49 per hour
Monica Voorbach- Award bid for lease of Irrigation Water Rights
Village Clerk Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez advised the Board that the Tularosa Community Ditch Corporation had not sent the Water Right Certificate to the village for the Mia Estates. Attorney Jeff Rhodes sent a letter last month requesting the village's water right and there has been no response.
Mayor Ray S. Cordova told the Board that members from FEMA had been in to meet with him in reference to the village being in a flood zone. Mayor Cordova said FEMA was in dismay at how wide and deep the Tularosa Creek is and hopes to change the designation of a flood zone. The Mayor said the process could take up to eight (8) months but they will try to expedite and hopefully do something by April.
There being no further business to come before the Board the Workshop was adjourned with a motion from Trustee Gloria Sainz and a second from Trustee Fred Tyler. The workshop adjourned at 6:30 P. M.
