Workshop-February 18, 2014
The Mayor and the Board of Trustees met in a Workshop setting on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 6:00 P. M. in the Court-Conference Room of the Public Safety Facility located at 609 St. Francis Drive, Tularosa, New Mexico.
Present: Mayor Ray S. Cordova
Trustee Patrick Garcia
Trustee John Ray Telles
Absent: Trustee Ron Cooksey
Also present was Village Clerk Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez.
At 6:00 P. M. Mayor Ray S. Cordova called the meeting to order asking that all rise and join him in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Salute to the Flag of the State of New Mexico.
Trustee Patrick Garcia asked Mayor Cordova if he could open with a moment of silence for Trustee Fred Tyler who passed away the 14th. Mayor agreed and included Trustee Gloria Sainz who passed away in November.

Announcement of retirement of Gregorio Rocha effective February 18, 2014, hired in October 1966
Ruth Birdsong-Permission to use village property for 2nd Annual Treasure Round-Up
Mary Jo Segotta-Approval to have a 5-K run as a fund raiser in the Village on Saturday, March 8th. Request to block off streets and police patrol for traffic
Guadalupe Rocha-Permission to set up a double wide at 302 Rosalio
Approval of Temporary Employment Agreement with Susan Flores from January 16, 2014 to June 30, 2014 with no more than 20 hours per week as per Chapter II, Section 20.01, Paragraph E of the Village of Tularosa Personnel Policy at $11.00 per hour
Approval of appointment of John Evans as Animal Control Officer with a 6 month probation at $10.00 per hour effective January 23, 2014
Charles Wood-Requesting a resolution to formally thank the Village of Edgewood, NM for donating an animal control truck box
Approval of Adoption of Resolution 2013-2014-17 Authorizing the sub-mission of a Colonias Infrastructure application to the NM Finance Authority
Approval of Adoption of Resolution 2013-2014-18 Thanking the Village of Edgewood for their donation of a Slide-In Animal Control Box
Approval of Amendment to Agreement with Bohannan-Huston for an increase of $18,250.00
Village Clerk Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez mentioned that on Thursday between 1:00 and 1:30 P. M. we can see the Final F-22 formation who have been at Holloman since 2008, they will now be relocating to Tyndall AFB, Florida. They will be replaced by two F-16 training squadrons from Luke AFB, Arizona.
Trustee Patrick Garcia asked how can a person inherit someone else's water bill. It was explained that the uncollected water bills stay with the property and the service cannot be reconnected until the outstanding bill is paid. If the property is sold through a realty company the bill is collected from the realty company.
Tim Duran, Field Supervisor, asked the Mayor and the Board if Goyo Rocha could be presented with a plaque for all his years of service. The Board all agreed.
It was mentioned that the Gas Co of New Mexico met with the Chief of Police to advise that they would be moving the meters from the alleyway to the front of Apple, Cherry and Peach streets and would need a little bit of traffic control.
There being no further business to discuss the workshop adjourned at 6:17 with a motion by Trustee Garcia and a second by Trustee Telles
