Workshop-July 20, 2010

The Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tularosa met in a Workshop setting on Tuesday, June 20, 2010 at 6:00 P. M. in the Court/ conference Room of the Public Safety Facility located at 609 St. Francis Drive, Tularosa, New Mexico.

Present: Mayor Ray S. Cordova
Trustee Fred Tyler
Trustee Joseph Lueras

Absent: Trustee Patrick Garcia
Trustee Gloria Sainz

Also in attendance was Village Clerk Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez and Richard Gutierrez Grants Coordinator.

At 6:15 P. M. Mayor Ray S. Cordova called the Workshop to order asking that all rise and join him in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Items presented at the Workshop were items that will be presented at the Regular Meeting of June 21, 2010 which include:

Rick Gutierrez-Approve adoption of Resolution 2009-2010-19 authorizing and approving submission of a completed application for financial assistance and project approval to the New Mexico Finance Authority to undertake acquisition, construction and improvement of Water/Waterline Improvements.
Valarie Delgado-Approve adoption of Resolution 2010-11-01 approving the 2010-2011 Final Operating Budget
Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez-Approve adoption of Resolution 2010-2011-02 relating to the reimbursement of Public Officers and Employees for travel expenses and attending meetings.

Mayor Ray Cordova-Confirm the hiring of Benjamin Betancur as Cook-Aide with 6 months probation. Date of Hire 7/16/2010 at the pay rate of $9.00

Trustee Fred Tyler made mention of two misspelled words in the draft version of the Regular Meeting minutes.

Trustee Joseph Lueras asked about the street repairs. Mr. Rick Gutierrez stated he got a specs ready and would submit to contractors for proposals and award. Trustee Lueras also asked what the course of action would be to have the water tanks painted with 2001 and 2009 State Champions, he has spoken to the art teacher and he is willing to do it. Village Clerk Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez was asked to find out when the next school board meeting was going to be held so that Trustee Lueras could approach them to see about the water tank painting project.

Trustee Fred Tyler asked to put a spot on the agenda for reports from Department Heads.

Trustee Joseph Lueras moved to adjourn the Workshop. Motion was seconded by Trustee Fred Tyler.

Trustee Fred Tyler asked to advertise the Fire Department's smoke detector program

There being no further business to come before the board the meeting adjourned at 6:55 P. M.
