Workshop-June 19, 2012
The Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tularosa met in a Workshop setting on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 6:00 P. M. in the Court/Conference Room of the Public Safety Facility located at 609 St. Francis Drive, Tularosa, New Mexico.

Trustee Patrick A. Garcia
Trustee Fred O. Tyler
Trustee Gloria R. Sainz
Trustee Joseph Lueras
Absent: Village Clerk Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez
Also present was Grants Coordinator Richard Gutierrez and Accounts Payable -Payroll Clerk Monica Voorbach.
Mayor Ray S. Cordova called the Workshop to order at 6:00 P. M. asking that all rise and join him in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Salute to the Flag of the State of New Mexico.
Items presented at the Workshop are the items that will be presented at the Regular Meeting of June 20, 2012 which include:

Pam Clarke-Otero County Habitat for Humanities-Approval of two side plans
Dan Abercrombie-Request to reseal Abercrombie Lane
Valli Kinder-Request to use RV-5th wheel on large lot as resident next to home on 1/2 acre lot
Rick Gutierrez-Approval of Resolution 2011-2012-19 with the NM State Highway & Transportation Co-Op Agreement
Valarie Delgado-Approval of Resolution 2011-2012-20 Budget Adjustments
Approval of proposed Ordinance and to Publish by Title & Subject Matter
Monica Voorbach-Award contract for random Drug Screening to BEH
Mayor Cordova-Approval of appointment of Zachariah Diaz as Police Officer with 6 months probation at $10.00 per hour effective June 1, 2012
Mayor Cordova-Approval of appointment of Lawrence O'Connor as Police Officer with 6 months probation at $12.50 per hour effective June 1, 2012
Trustee Fred Tyler-Approve a Resolution designating July 16, 2012 as "Downwinders Day"
Trustee Fred Tyler questioned several of the bills and asked if the village owned a sewer snake because the sewer line at the community center had recently been replaced. Another question was a $10,000.00 imaging camera replacement and whether it went out to bid.
Trustee Fred Tyler asked that the draft minutes for May 16, 2012 be corrected on page 3, item 10 change the word servants to service personnel and service program.
Trustee Fred Tyler thanked the department heads that had their monthly reports.
Trustee Joseph Lueras asked if there was a report from the Recreation Department. Trustee Tyler said the report from the Community service program does not have a deeper explanation of workers hours as approved last month on the rehire.
Thomas McKean thanked all that were involved in the Memorial Day celebration.
Trustee Patrick Garcia suggested a quarterly newsletter of what's going on in the village, for instance recreation about where to sign up and felt the program also has to be funded a little more. Trustee Joseph Lueras suggested that the library and the recreation get together and combine the programs.
Thomas McKean asked if it was possible to install another light at the Community Center basketball courts. Mayor Cordova asked Rick to look into that.
There being no further business to come before the Board the Workshop adjourned.
