Workshop-June 18, 2013
The Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tularosa met in a Workshop setting on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 6:00 P. M. in the Court/Conference Room of the Public Safety Facility located at 609 St. Francis Drive, Tularosa, New Mexico.
Present: Mayor Ray S. Cordova
Trustee Patrick A. Garcia
Trustee Gloria R. Sainz
Trustee Fred O. Tyler
Absent: Trustee Joseph Lueras
Also present was Village Clerk Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez and Rick Gutierrez, Grants Coordinator.
At 6:05 P. M. Mayor Ray S. Cordova called the Workshop to order asking that all rise and join him in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Salute to the Flag of the State of New Mexico.

First to come before the Mayor and the Board of Trustees was John Montoya the Villages Fire Chief. Mr. John Montoya requested from the Board to start looking at a Rescue Truck for a total of $180,000.00 stating that the fire truck they have now, has been paid in full. Mr. Montoya said he would start looking for funding and will come back to the board at a later date.
Next to come before the board was Guadalupe Fuentes and his son David. Mr. Fuentes stated that a tree branch had fallen on his son's truck, the tree being outside his property and the branch leaning into his property. Mr. Fuentes wondered if he was within his rights to cut the tree. Mayor Ray Cordova said that village personnel is not equipped nor trained to cut the large trees we have in our village limits. After much discussion Mr. Fuentes was told that the village would get a legal opinion from the village attorney.
Monica Voorbach, Accounts Payable Clerk reported that the village make $1,556.91 on the sale of surplus items.
Prestina Chavez, Senior Center Director asked if there were any questions on the Senior's policie and proceedures manual and stated that this was just a revision.
Hadley Yates gave a power point presentation on a Downtown Plaza plan noting that the GreaterTularosa Foundation has been created.
Trustee Patrick Garcia then moved to adjourn with a second from Trustee Gloria Sainz.
The Workshop ended at 7:15 P. M.
