Special Meeting – June 28, 2017

The Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tularosa met in a Special Session on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in the Court Conference Room of the Public Safety Facility located at 609 St. Francis Drive, Tularosa, New Mexico.

Present:             
Mayor Ray S. Cordova
Trustee Robert L. Sainz
Trustee John 'Ray' Telles
Trustee Deanna Montoya

Also present:    Jeff Rhodes Attorney, Monica A. Voorbach Village Clerk

Mayor Ray S. Cordova called the meeting to order asking that all rise and join him in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Salute to the Flag of the State of New Mexico.

1.      Consideration of Agenda

Trustee Patrick Garcia moved to consider the agenda with request to move item #3 to item #2.  Trustee Robert Sainz seconded the motion.  Motion passed.
 
3.      Lance Geist, Lancon Construction requesting an extension of 60 days for the project at the Senior Center Addition and Renovation.

Lance Geist explained the project would be back on track hoping no bad weather.  Because of the funding and not receiving payment for work completed put his finances on hold. Should be receiving money and will be able to get back to work in 15 days and provide a schedule of the project.
 
Trustee Robert Sainz made a motion to approve.  Trustee Deanna Montoya seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote:  Trustee Patrick Garcia, aye. Trustee Robert Sainz, aye.  Trustee Ray Telles, aye.  Trustee Deanna Montoya, aye. Motion carried with all members of the board voting aye.

2.Non-Metro Area Agency on Aging, Marcia Medina and Agnes Vallejos  to discuss options to continue program operations and other conditions for the proposed re-contracting with the Village of Tularosa Senior Program.   

Marcia Medina approached the Board explaining the Village taking back the program with AAA agreement contract for 6 months. Everything goes well to continue going with the Village Marcia Median said she would have to go back to get approval of the contract for a full year. Agnes stated the contract will be amended because of the short time  Trustee Patrick Garcia asked about the 6 month probation will the Village have the ability to keep the program.  Agnes stated yes monitoring the program and running well.

Trustee Patrick Garcia made a motion to approve with a full year contract and six months probation.  Trustee Ray Telles seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote:  Trustee Patrick Garcia, aye. Trustee Robert Sainz, aye.  Trustee Ray Telles, aye.  Trustee Deanna Montoya, aye.  Motion carried with all members of the board voting aye.

 

4.      Monica Voorbach requesting to close on Monday July 03, 2017 day before the fourth of July all employees will use vacation or comp time.  

Trustee Robert Sainz made a motion to approve.  Trustee Deanna Montoya seconded the motion. 

Roll Call Vote:  Trustee Patrick Garcia, aye. Trustee Robert Saint, aye.  Trustee Ray Telles, aye.  Trustee Deanna Montoya, aye.  Motion carried with all members of the board voting aye.

Trustee Patrick Garcia made a motion to adjourn. Trustee Robert Sainz seconded the motion.

There being no further business to come before the board the meeting adjourned at 02:20 P. M.
