Workshop-November 15, 2011

The Mayor and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tularosa met in a Workshop setting on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 6:00 P. M. in the Court/Conference Room of the Public Safety Facility located at 609 St. Francis Drive, Tularosa, New Mexico.

Present: Mayor Ray S. Cordova
Trustee Patrick Garcia
Trustee Gloria R. Sainz

Absent: Trustee Joseph Lueras
Trustee Fred Tyler

Also present was Village Clerk Dianna Brusuelas-Guilez and Rick Gutierrez Grants Coordinator.

At 6:12 P. M. Mayor Ray S. Cordova called the Workshop to order asking that all rise and join him in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Salute to the Flag of the State of New Mexico. Mayor Cordova announced that there was a quorum present even though two board members were absent.

Items presented at the Workshop are items that will be presented at the Regular Meeting of November 16, 2011 which include:

Consideration of Agenda and Consent Agenda
Unscheduled Correspondence and Public Comments
Approval of Adoption of Resolution 2011-2012-09 Election Resolution
Approval of Adoption of Resolution 2011-2012-10 Approve project for CDBG application
LanCon-Lance Giest-Discuss Prairie Subdivision and accept as status quo and accepting minor modifications as per letter

Mayor Ray S. Cordova was pleased to announce that Sonya Gililland was able to have a 52" television donated by Walmart to the Recreation Center. It was agreed that a Thank You note would be sent to Walmart.

Trustee Gloria R. Sainz thanked everyone who donated items for the Veteran's Day celebration.

Trustee Patrick Garcia thanked Thomas McKean for the nice Veteran's Day celebration.

Trustee Patrick Garcia voiced concern about the Community Center Park and people hanging around drinking and kids not being able to use the park as a playground. Discussion ensued and it was mentioned that they be cited under state statute. Trustee Garcia also asked about the weeds at the propane property on the highway and if the Police Department had taken care of the issue on Fairview Avenue. Mayor Cordova said he would ask the Police Department.

There being no further business to come before the board Trustee Patrick Garcia moved to adjourn and was seconded by Trustee Gloria R. Sainz.
