Trustee Fred Tyler wondered if the bills on page 8 under Solid Waste were reimburseable. I was explained that the bill to Ernie Byers for $1,826.00 was not because those were for parts to the old Solid Waste truck given to us. The other items were for warranty parts and would be reimbursed.
Trustee Thomas McKean asked about a payment to SamCon for $12,519.95 dated 2008.
Mayor Ray S. Cordova advised that the village will have to invest on a Valve Exercisor Machine to open fire hydrant valves and to get on a maintenance program to exercise all the valves in the village.
There was a question by business owner Simon Chavez showing concern on the village mandating garbage collection exclusively and whether the containers would be sufficient. Mr. Chavez quoted the Free Commerce Trade Act. Mr. Chavez was told the village had to comply with all environmental laws , state and federal and that Attorney Jeff Rhodes would be at the Regular Meeting the following day if he had questions.
Next to come before the Board was Klad Zimmerle from Alamotero Land Survey for the Rhino subdivision saying Mr. Steve Dwyer, the subdivider would extend water and sewer lines. Trustee Thomas McKean asked Mr. Zimmerle if Mr. Dwyer would install curbs and gutters. The response was no that whoever Mr. Dwyer sells to would install those.
Trustee Thomas McKean asked that the Solid Waste have a plan in place for garbage pick up for the upcoming holidays. Mayor Cordova advised that Mike Gaston does have a plan in place and is very conciencious.
At 8:40 P. M. Trustee Patrick Garcia moved to adjourn the Workshop.
